A Young Female With Metastatic Nongestational Choriocarcinoma

Germ cell tumors of the ovary most likely to affect adolescent girls and young women are non–epithelial-based tumors and include dysgerminomas, yolk sac tumors, immature teratomas, embyronal cell tumors, and nongestational choriocarcinomas (NGCs), occurring without an antecedent pregnancy.1,2 NGC is rare3 and more often occurs in mixed form than as a pure primary ovarian choriocarcinoma. In men, NGC can occur as a testicular choriocarcinoma.
