September 27 is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

On September 27, join AIDSinfo in observing National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.   No group in the United States is more affected by HIV than gay and bisexual men. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2013 in the United States, gay and bisexual men accounted for 65% of the 47,352 estimated HIV diagnoses among all people receiving an HIV diagnosis that year. In the same year, gay and bisexual men accounted for 55% of the estimated number of persons diagnosed with AIDS among all adults and adolescents in the United States.   Visit our National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day webpage [en español] to learn more about the burden of HIV in this population.
