Stool Transplants Save Lives. Why Don't We Use Them Early For Deadly C. diff?

Working in the hospital again always provides valuable perspective. I love (most of) the patient care, and seeing differences in patterns over time, as I only see patients episodically. One of the striking things this past week was how little progress we’ve made on treating acute C. difficile colitis, an infection caused by Clostridium difficile, a bacterium in the same family as bugs causing tetanus and botulism.
