Patient Involvement in Parkinson ’s Disease Research: Involving People with PD in the Development of a Digital Self-Management Tool
Background: The wide range of motor and non-motor symptoms associated with Parkinson ’s disease (PD) poses significant challenges for people with PD (PwPD) and their relatives. These challenges, often faced outside of routine care, can be addressed by promoting self-management via structured interventions. Self-management refers to an individual’s active involvement in controlli ng and adapting their own health behaviours and treatment strategies to cope with a chronic disease, therefore promoting autonomy and well-being.
