Ascending aortic dilatation in TAVI: Actor or bystander?
Ascending aorta dilatation (AAD) frequently coexist with aortic stenosis (AS), affecting approximately 20% of patients undergoing surgical (SAVR) or transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) [1 –3] This association is even stronger in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV), showing AAD in up to 42% [4].
