LncRNA HOTAIR ameliorates calcific aortic valve disease by sponging miR-29b

Fang et al. reported that miR-29b would be a biomarker and an intervention target for the calcific aortic valve disease. Mechanically, down-regulation of miR-29b inhibited osteoblastic differentiation of aortic valve interstitial cells [1]. This finding may provide a new direction for treating calcific aortic valve disease, whereas the up-regulation mechanism of miR-29b in this pathophysiological process needs further exploration.
