Craniocervical instability in patients with Ehlers ‑Danlos syndromes: outcomes analysis following occipito‑cervical fusion of published cases

AbstractThis critique provides a critical analysis of the outcomes following occipito-cervical fusion in patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and craniocervical instability. The study examines the efficacy of the surgical intervention and evaluates its impact on patient outcomes. While the article offers valuable insights into the management of EDS-related craniocervical instability, several limitations and areas for improvement are identified, including sample size constraints, the absence of a control group, and the need for long-term follow-up data. Future research efforts should focus on addressing these concerns to optimize treatment outcomes for individuals with EDS.
