Endoscopic ultrasound –guided cholecystojejunostomy for management of acute cholecystitis in a patient with cirrhosis, ascites, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass anatomy
A 43-year-old woman with decompensated cirrhosis, alcohol use disorder, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass for obesity, and chronic pancreatitis presented with acute cholecystitis (A). The patient was deemed a nonsurgical candidate because of her multiple comorbidities, and percutaneous drainage was not feasible because of significant ascites. Thus, EUS-guided gallbladder drainage was pursued.
