Laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy in the oldest old is safe: the race is run

ConclusionLVMR seems to be a safe operation for the “oldest old” patients with comorbidity, despite a single-centre, retrospective trial with limited follow-up. The present study suggests abandoning the dogma that “frail patients with rectal prolapse are not suitable for laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy.”
