Spine surgeries rank within the top three most painful procedures out of a total of 179 surgical interventions [1]. Pain is associated with stress and may lead to various postoperative complications by triggering heightened inflammation [2]. Patients experience moderate to severe pain on the first postoperative day, with a numerical rating scale (NRS) ranging from 5 to 8. Effective pain management can greatly improve patients ’ recovery and satisfaction and reduce hospitalization costs [3].
