Effect of a Nutritional Education Program on Children's Undernutrition in Indonesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Children's undernutrition is a severe public health issue (Ssentongo et al., 2021). The World Health Organization (WHO, 2021a) defines children's undernutrition as a deficiency or imbalance in the intake of energy and nutrients, and includes wasting (i.e., low weight-for-height), stunting (i.e., low height-for-age), and being underweight (i.e., low weight-for-age). Globally, around 462 million children under 5 years were assessed as being underweight, a million children were stunted, and 45 million exhibited wasting (WHO, 2021b).
