Management after cataract surgery for patients with diabetic retinopathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis

ConclusionThe present meta-analysis suggests that anti-VEGF drugs can effectively slow down the progression of diabetic retinopathy, improve BCVA, and reduce MT in DR patients who underwent cataract surgery. Steroid drugs also show promise in reducing MT. However, further studies with larger sample sizes are required to compare the efficacy and safety of different management options in a multi-center clinical setting.
