Asclepieia in ancient Greece: pilgrimage and healing destinations, the forerunner of medical tourism

Asclepieia were healing sanctuaries dedicated to Asclepios. Asclepieia were located throughout the Eastern Mediterranean area, in ancient Greece and the Roman world.
