Menopausal hormone therapy: A review of metabolic and thermogenic effects
Around 85 % of women experience menopausal symptoms, and menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is recognised as the most effective treatment, achieving reductions of over 75 % in the frequency and severity of these symptoms. Despite this, women are reluctant to start or continue MHT, often because of concerns about an increased risk of breast cancer and a belief that it can lead to weight gain.
