Correlates of sexual and reproductive health service utilization among older adults in China: Findings from the sexual well-being (SWELL) study
The aging population is increasing globally. In 2021, 260 million people were older than 60 years old in China [1]. By 2050, China's older adults are expected to account for one-quarter of the total population [1]. Previous studies have shown that sexual health is an integral part of overall health in older age and older adults remain sexually active in later life [2]. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that sexual activity can be enjoyable and fulfilling for older adults, but at the same time, they have greater co-morbidities and disabilities that may impact their sex life [3].
