Isolated fallopian tube torsion: A systematic review of case reports

Isolated fallopian tube torsion (IFTT) is a rare condition first described by Bland Sutton [1] in the 1890 ′s. Its incidence has been reported to be approximately 1 in 1.5 million women [2]. By definition, IFTT describes a condition in which there is rotation or twisting of the fallopian tube alone with no involvement of the ovary or its blood supply.
