Ingrown nail correction device using three-dimensionally printed thermoplastic polyurethane and nickel-titanium shape-memory alloy

Ingrown nails may cause significant pain and can be challenging to treat due to frequent recurrences. Surgical treatments are most effective but have the disadvantage of pain. Many devices have been developed to correct ingrown nails without pain, although most of these cause pain when the devices are inserted between the nail and the nailfold.1-8Recent studies have reported a method that involves attaching shape-memory alloy to pins using dental adhesive and resin, but this process is complicated.
