A Workshop to Showcase the Diversity of Scientists to Middle School Students

This study aimed to examine these feelings of inclusivity in STEMM by offering an interactive workshop asking middle schoolers to identify scientists from various racial and gender identities. Here, we present a qualitative analysis pertaining to a workshop focused on identity administered to middle schoolers. We found that a plurality of students had a positive experience discussing diversity in science and recognizing underrepresented individuals as scientists.
