Is Prophylactic Antibiotic Use Necessary Before Dental Procedures in Primary and Revision TKA? A Propensity Score-matched, Large-database Study
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that dental procedures were not associated with an increased risk of PJI for up to 2 years after the dental procedure in patients who underwent either primary or revision TKA. Based on these findings, there is insufficient rationale for the use of prophylactic antibiotics before dental procedures in patients who have undergone primary or revision TKA.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level III, therapeutic study.PMID:38231150 | DOI:10.1097/CORR.0000000000002966
