Metabolome analysis as a potential source of biomarkers in endometriosis

Introduction and aimsof the study: Endometriosis is a disease that affects approximately 190 million women. There is a demand for developing a non-invasive diagnostic tool of endometriosis. Diseases cause disruption of biochemical pathways leading to a metabolic fingerprint characteristic of its site and nature. This makes metabolomics a powerful tool for development of biomarkers. Thus, the aim of our study was to analyse the differences in metabolomic profile of endometriosis patients and controls.
