12. Impact of Chest Binding on Exercise Capacity in Transgender and Gender-Diverse Youth Assigned Female at Birth
Transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth have lower rates of physical activity (PA) participation than cisgender youth. Many TGD youth assigned female at birth wear chest binders. While binding has been associated with a number of symptoms that may lead some individuals to limit PA, its impact on exercise capacity is not well understood. The aim of this study was to understand the role of chest binding on physical symptoms and exercise capacity in TGD youth.
