189. Young People ’s Knowledge and Understanding of Abortion Laws in a Non-Restrictive State Following the Dobbs Decision

Increased discourse about abortion following the Supreme Court vs. Dobbs decision in June 2022, complicated by different state laws and regulations, could complicate adolescent and young adult (AYA) understanding of abortion legality, leading to confusion for young people who may be misinformed about abortion laws and restrictions even if living in a permissive state. This creates health inequities for people who experience barriers to reproductive healthcare access. Our objective was to assess what adolescents and young adults understand about the legality of abortion in the state of Colorado (a state in which abortion is legal under all circumstances and to minors with parental notification) after the Supreme Court vs.
