193. Characteristics of Adolescents and Young Adults Associated With Long-Term Retention Within an Office-Based Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Program

Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) has been shown to be effective for adolescents and young adults (AYA) with OUD. Early initiation of MOUD is associated with greater retention in treatment which in turn is associated with lower mortality and illicit opioid use. Although there are clear benefits of MOUD for AYA, there is limited data on retention beyond 12 months. The goals of the study were to describe continued program retention for AYA who were retained in treatment beyond a year within an office-base opioid treatment (OBOT) program and to explore demographic and clinical factors associated with continued retention in care.
