Strengths and challenges in current lung cancer care: Timeliness and diagnostic procedures in six Dutch hospitals
In the past two decades, the incidence of lung cancer (LC) in the Netherlands increased to over 14.500 new cases in 2022 [1]. Most patients are diagnosed with advanced or metastatic LC, leading to a 5-year overall survival rate of 19 % [3]. Timely detection of lung cancer is therefore crucial to achieve successful treatment and improved patient outcome [4].
