Survival To Discharge Among Cardiogenic Shock Patients Supported By VA-ECMO: An Insight From The Largest VA-ECMO Experience In The Middle East-Gulf Region
Mortality among patients with cardiogenic shock remains high. Despite the increasing use of veno-arterial extracorporeal membranous oxygenation (VA-ECMO) to support patients with cardiogenic shock, in-hospital mortality remains unacceptably high. Optimizing VA-ECMO outcomes rests on identifying patients likely to derive survival advantages from this resource-intensive treatment, especially in nascent programs. Therefore, we aimed to describe patient characteristics and clinical outcomes in a single-center experience in the Middle East.
