Unusual Villiform Re-epithelialization in Barrett's Esophagus Following Endoscopic Treatment

A 57-year-old male patient with a history of high-grade dysplasia and intramucosal carcinoma in the context of Barrett's esophagus, treated with several endoscopic mucosal resections and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) procedures, presented for a follow-up gastroscopy. The endoscopic assessment revealed an unusual finding in the esophagus. The Barrett's segment, which had been previously treated, now exhibited a very fine villiform appearance (Figure  A, Video) with absence of the typical mucosal pattern when viewed under virtual chromoendoscopy (Figure B).
