6. TORN Face: Trial of Resorbable Versus Non-Resorbable Sutures in Traumatic Lacerations of the Face

Facial injuries account for 29% of A&E attendances in the UK, 34% of which have lacerations that require suturing. Currently there is no universal consensus on the most appropriate suture material for facial wound repair that gives rise to optimal outcome for both patients and clinicians. This single centre, trainee-led RCT aims to compare patient-reported and long-term aesthetic outcomes between resorbable and non-resorbable sutures in management of traumatic facial lacerations.
