26. Who is more sleepy, me or our patients? - An audit of sleep quality in Maxillofacial surgery and ENT inpatients

Sleep is an essential form of specialised rest crucial for cellular regeneration and a robust immune system. Good quality sleep is increasingly being seen as a cornerstone of physical and mental health alongside nutrition and exercise. Sleep is especially important for those recovering from surgery and ill health. Observational findings indicate surgical inpatients regularly experience barriers to achieving an adequate amount of good quality sleep which is likely to be detrimental to their recovery.
