Can We Use an Algorithm as an “Ariadne's Thread” to Escape the Maze of Mitral Regurgitation Phenotype?

We read with great interest the study by Asch et  al.1 on the use of a natural language processing–based algorithm for exploring the accuracy of the description of the mechanism of mitral regurgitation (MR) in echocardiographic reports. Although the results are sound and interesting, several methodological questions are raised.
