A New Thiohydantoin Derivative from the Roots of Lepidium meyenii

Macathiohydantoin S (1), a new thiohydantoin derivative, was isolated from the roots ofLepidium meyenii (Maca) collected from Qujing, Yunnan Province of China. The structure of1 was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data, including 1D NMR (1H NMR,13C NMR), 2D NMR (HSQC, HMBC, and COSY) and HR-ESI-MS techniques. The cytotoxicities against five human cancer cell lines of compound1 were also evaluated.
