Sex dimorphism and cancer immunotherapy: may pregnancy solve the puzzle?
In the last decade, growing interest has emerged about sex dimorphism of immune response in the context of anti-cancer immunotherapy. Specifically, sex includes physiological and anatomical variables such as chromosome asset and organization, reproductive organs and sex hormones levels which can ultimately affect the pathogenesis of several diseases, including cancer [1].
