MyBackExercise App – A digital, automated exercise intervention for people with chronic non-specific low back pain. Protocol of a randomised controlled trial

Introduction: Chronic non-specific low back pain (LBP) remains one of the major global health challenges for nearly three decades, with escalating socioeconomic burden associated with population growth and aging, as well as the limited availability of healthcare resources and workforce shortages. Digital health solutions have emerged as a promising strategy to overcome barriers to accessing first-line, evidence-based healthcare and, possibly, improve the efficacy of healthcare systems. The purpose of this study will be to investigate whether an app-based automated exercise intervention improves self-reported physical function compared to a control group for people with chronic non-specific low back pain.
