AXL- a new player in resistance to HER2 blockade

HER2 (gene name, ERBB2) transmembrane glycoprotein receptor is a member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) family together with receptors HER1, HER3, and HER4. Homo- or hetero-dimerization of these receptors activate key downstream pathways, being HER2-HER3 the most prevalent and potent heterodimer in signaling [1].
