The Tailored Opioid Reduction Strategy (TORS): A Quality Improvement Initiative to Reduce Opioid Prescription Following Hysterectomy
CONCLUSION: TORS implementation was successful in reducing the rate of discharge opioid prescriptions and the total amount of opiates prescribed in patients undergoing hysterectomy with no decrease in patient satisfaction or change in postoperative pain scores. We believe it can be applied more broadly across different surgical patient populations to prevent opioid abuse.PMID:37709142 | DOI:10.1016/j.jogc.2023.102214
