SMART RHESINs —Superparamagnetic Magnetite Architecture Made of Phenolic Resin Hollow Spheres Coated with Eu(III) Containing Silica Nanoparticles for Future Quantitative Magnetic Particle Imaging Applications (Small 38/2023)

Hollow NanospheresSMART RHESINs are novel iron oxide-filled hollow nanospheres coated with luminescent Eu(III) complex-containing silica nanoparticles. Unlike typical core/shell nanoparticles, SMART RHESINs retain unchanged effective Brownian and N éel relaxation even when fully immobilised in a viscous media. This unique behaviour makes SMART RHESINs potential quantitative magnetic particle imaging (MPI) probes for biological applications. More details can be found in article number2301997 by Esther S. R ösch and co-workers.
