Semiautomated Quantification of the Tricuspid Annulus Using Three-Dimensional Echocardiography

Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) represents a distinctive entity with clear adverse prognostic implications, which are independent of left ventricular function and pulmonary hypertension.1 As the mortality associated with isolated tricuspid valve (TV) surgery is not negligible,2 the field of transcatheter TV interventions is rapidly expanding, with recent encouraging results from a dedicated percutaneous TV device.2 As the development of different percutaneous TV treatment options continues to grow, there will be an increasing need for accurate assessment of the complex anatomy and dynamics of the TV apparatus.
