Thank you to Fialowski et al for their Letter to the Editor highlighting the importance of disaggregating data for Asians and Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders. The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior recognizes the unique cultural characteristics and health outcomes of these groups and supports the publication of research that expands our understanding of health disparities and associated health determinants of all racial and ethnic groups. The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior has revised the Guidelines for Authors to appropriately reflect these groups in the example provided in the gender, race, and ethnicity general guidelines for collecting data:Race or ethnicity was self-reported by the parents of the children from a list including non-Hispanic White, non-Hispanic Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, AmericanIndian or Native Alaskan, or multiracial (specify), or other (specify).
