Blood Banking: the situation in Albania

Albania, officially named the Republic of Albania, is a country on the Balkan peninsula in Southeastern Europe located on the Adriatic and Ionian Sea. The relatively small country has a total area of 28,748km2 with a population of approximately 2.8 million persons in 2022 (97/km2). Except for a long the Adriatic Sea coast, the landscape is rugged and mountainous. The capital is Tirana which is also the largest city with a population of approximately 600,000 individuals (population density of 502km2).
