Cancer Radiother. 2023 Aug 10:S1278-3218(23)00150-6. doi: 10.1016/j.canrad.2023.07.008. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTClinical research is an essential activity in cancer care. Both for patients, who can gain access to innovative therapies, and for practitioners, who can maintain their skills and stay at the forefront of new treatment approaches. First developed in university hospitals, clinical research is now established in general hospitals and private health institutions. The number of patient inclusions in clinical trials has doubled over the last ten years, thus reflecting the dynamism of it. Strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats concerning clinical research, and more specifically clinical research in general hospitals, are exposed in this article.PMID:37573194 | DOI:10.1016/j.canrad.2023.07.008
