Widening the lens on suicide prevention – Introducing Practice and Policy Insights articles.

Crisis: The Journal of Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention, Vol 44(4), 2023, 259-260; doi:10.1027/0227-5910/a000920In this article, the author explains that the The Journal of Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention is changing the name and scope of one of its article types to reflect the more expansive perspective on how suicide arises and how it might be prevented. The Clinical Insights articles will now be known as Practice and Policy Insights articles. The Clinical Insights articles have tended to focus on how particular clinical approaches, programs, or initiatives might be helpful for people who are actively suicidal. The new Practice and Policy Insights articles may also do this (because we view “clinical insights” as one type of “practice insights”) but they may also go beyond this. This new generation of articles will widen the lens on suicide prevention. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA, all rights reserved)
