Critical role of MXRA7 in differentiation blockade in human acute promyelocytic leukemia cells

Since the accomplishment of Human Genome Project in 2002 and with the advancement of various high-throughput research strategies, characterization of previously ill-defined genes or discovery of novel functions of known genes has been accelerated, which in turn facilitates the discovery of the pathogenesis of or effective therapies for diseases. In the past decade, we investigated the potential role of a less-cared gene, matrix remodeling associated 7 (MXRA7), in different pathophysiological processes including leukemia.
