The Latur Project: screening for non-communicable disease in rural India

This study was aimed to highlight the prevalence of various common NCDs in perimenopausal women living in rural India where sunshine is abundant, women work in fields, nutrition is not the most ideal, and assess to healthcare is not adequate. If by utilization of some specific symptoms, women at risk of NCDs could be identified then it would make it easier to identify such women and offer them adequate healthcare by referring them to higher centers out of their small villages.
