Minority-Owned U.S. Businesses Account for 20 % of Domestic Microbusiness R & D Performance Costs

Minority-owned microbusinesses accounted for 20 % of the $ 5.6 billion of research and development performed by microbusinesses in 2020, while nonminority-owned microbusinesses accounted for 72 % of the total. Data are from the 2021 Annual Business Survey : Data Year 2020, cosponsored by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics within the National Science Foundation and by the Census Bureau.
