Among Microbusinesses, Domestic R & D Performance Increased by 24 % from 2018 to 2020

During the 2018 – 20 period, microbusiness research and development ( R&D ) performance increased for both manufacturing and nonmanufacturing industries. In 2020, microbusinesses performed $ 5.6 billion of R&D. Data are from the 2021 Annual Business Survey : Data Year 2020, cosponsored by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics within the National Science Foundation and by the Census Bureau.
