Platycodin D induces proliferation inhibition and mitochondrial apoptosis in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a heterogeneous disease and represents the most common non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in adults, accounting for 30% - 40% of all newly diagnosed cases [1]. Two major molecular subtypes of DLBCL have been distinguished by gene expression profiling (GEP), the germinal center B-cell-like (GCB) DLBCL and the activated B-cell-like (ABC) DLBCL [2], while 10% - 15% of cases are identified as unclassified DLBCL [3]. It is noteworthy that the ABC subtype is associated with a worse prognosis than the GCB subtype [4,5].
