Efficacy and safety of Antiemetic Regimens for Highly Emetogenic Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis

Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) are common and distressing side effects. 70% to 80% of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy develop CINV; without appropriate therapy, the risk of developing CINV rises to 90% of patients with highly-emetogenic-chemotherapy (HEC) [1 –3]. CINV is linked with worse quality of Life, treatment compliance, malnutrition, and, cognitive disorders, with a potential impact on anti-cancer treatment efficacy [4–6]. The treatment goal for CINV should be to avoid the first occurrence of CINV.
