ConclusionsFuture antibiotic strategies should strongly consider the risks of antibiotic treatment  >  24 h and administration methods other than the oral antibiotic forms. In addition, providers should be wary of using ciprofloxacin monotherapy for endophthalmitis prophylaxis when treating open globe injuries.
