Myocardial injury is associated with worse prognosis in patients with COVID-19.1-7 Numerous mechanisms for myocardial injury in COVID-19 have been proposed, including microvascular thrombosis, increased risk of coronary plaque destabilization, myocarditis, endothelial dysfunction, injury due to systemic inflammatory response, and supply-demand mismatch.8
