MR Imaging of M üllerian Anomalies

Constituting a broad spectrum of developmental abnormalities of the female genital tract, M üllerian duct anomalies (MDAs) are present in up to 7% of the general population and in up to 25% of women who present with infertility and a history of miscarriage. Imaging plays an important role in narrowing the diagnostic considerations in these patients. In this article, we review the normal e mbryologic development of the female genital tract followed by the MR imaging techniques and protocol recommendations to evaluate such patients. The differential diagnoses and the MR imaging features of MDAs are also reviewed.
