Conclusions Free anterolateral thigh flap was a safe and reliable option for reconstructing soft tissue defects of extremities in pediatric patients. Notably, the incidence of scar hyperplasia in the donor site and the possibility of reoperation in pediatric patients were higher than those in adult patients.
